I wasn't sure either so I looked it up and all it is is yarn over twice.
That was a great gift!
I haven't made Monkey socks (yet) Carol, but YO2 USUALLY means YO 2 times - you wrap the yarn around the needle twice instead of once. Hopefully I'm not misleading you...
You are very welcome!! I'm so glad she liked it!
I was gonna tell you what YO2 meant, but I see Pat has beaten me to it! I haven't got to do the Monkey socks yet, either, but I made a drop stitch scarf and I think a poncho, both of which called for the multiple yarn overs.
Ok, thank you ladies for your help...I will try again tonight...
I immediatley thought yarn over twice too. I have never done a pattern that called for that, sounds interesting.
Phew, it is a good thing someone could decode that for you!!!
Well, I tried again last night and I guess it just isn't for me as I am not able to do it. I tried wrapping the yarn twice and I ended up with not enough stitches to finish the row. oh well, I will move onto another pattern..taking a sock book to work to figure out which one. Oh but my grandaughter's sweater came out so nice. Just need to add the buttons.
Sorry your socks are not working out for you. I am off to see what you sent Pam
Wow, that stinks that you can't get it to work! The monkeys are such fun. This may sound stupid, but you need to swing the yarn around the needle (as if to YO) twice... you aren't knitting a stitch in the middle there, are you? I know some people get confused when they think of the yarn over and knitting the next stitch as one move.
It took a while for me to get the hang of the next row, when you knit the first of the YOs and purl the second, but it helps keep that hole more open.
Liz, I am not sure just what I was doing wrong...I have done yo's many times and for whatever reason this time it is not clicking...thanks for you advise..I just might try them again.
